The new medical building of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital has started trial operation from outpatient hall since November 5 of 2012, with a total area of 224,800 sq.m. , which is the largest medical building in area and divided into five parts including Outpatient Department, Emergency Center, Medical Studying Room, and few Inpatient Areas, with daily outpatient visits of 15,000.
The new building has been regarded as Water Cube in Nanjing, with the design features of spaciousness, art, vigor, leisure, and humanity, the exterior facade of which consists of more than 800 pieces of decoration plate with the automatic adjustment functions of energy conservation and environmental protection. The vast outpatient hall has been designed to be the Mental Buffer Area, the mesh metal ceilings are specially manufactured and provided by ZHIGAO through which the light backward has been softened to make the environment more comfortable, more pleasant ,the process more convenient, and the lifting structure has been particularly optimized to meet the higher requirements of medical industry.
